“Processing” means collecting, storing, using, updating, sharing, deleting or otherwise handling personal information.

9. Learner Consent to Share Application Information
When a learner applies for an opportunity, the learner consents to the platform sharing the learner’s relevant profile information, CV, certificates and supporting documents with the employer or administrator responsible for that opportunity.
This information may be used by the employer to:
- Assess the learner’s suitability.
- Review the learner’s application.
- Shortlist the learner.
- Contact the learner.
- Arrange interviews or placement discussions.
- Manage placement or appointment processes.
Employers must only use learner information for legitimate recruitment, placement, internship or programme support purposes.

Employers who access learner information through the platform must:

- Use learner information only for the specific opportunity or placement process.
- Not share learner information with unauthorised third parties.
- Not use learner information for unrelated marketing.
- Not sell, rent or trade learner information.
- Take reasonable steps to protect learner information.
- Delete or return learner information when it is no longer needed, unless legally required to keep it.
Employers are responsible for complying with applicable privacy, labour and anti-discrimination laws when processing learner information.
13. Security of Personal Information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
These measures may include:

The platform is intended for learners and participants who are old enough to participate in post-training, workplace exposure, internship or employment-related opportunities.
Where the platform processes personal information of minors, such processing must be done with the necessary consent or lawful authority required under South African law.
The Information Regulator provides guidance on the processing of children’s personal information under POPIA.
20. User Rights Under POPIA
Users have the right to:
